Hello, everyone. Getting ready to take my sweet boy on a trip up to Cambria. This will be his longest trip yet, 4 days away. A friend recommended the Cavalier Inn in San Simeon as a good place to travel with dogs. I saw pictures of a large grass area with a trail right outside of the hotel, along with a beach area, so I’m hoping that she is right.Â
Cambria has always been one of our favorite places to travel to, but this will be our first time going there with a dog. I have been looking up pet friendly restaurants and there are quite a few, including Robin’s, which is one of our favorites. It has a large garden patio where I have seen other dogs in the past.
I am really hoping that Sam’s training comes in handy at least a little bit. He still struggles to come with other dogs around, and pulls on his leash when he gets excited. But, I feel that he has improved somewhat. I think this trip will be a good test. There will be new places and dogs I’m sure.
I would love to hear of any travel tips that you might have for dogs, and especially Goldens in particular. I am yet to receive a real comment, other than spam of course, but I am hopeful. I know how many people love their dogs, and golden retrievers.
It is hard to believe that Sam is already a year and a half old. He is still considered a puppy, but once he reaches two years old he will be considered an adult dog. It just seems like yesterday when we picked him up from the airport. He was so much smaller then, but he still had giant paws.
Soulful Escapes
My escape for the day is heading over to an antique show. I have always wanted to find some kind of hidden treasure. I doubt that will occur, but the chase is always fun. Has anyone ever found anything like that?
I will keep you posted on Sam’s escapades in Cambria. Hopefully I will get some good pics as well. Wish me luck.Â
